The applications for the 2012-2013 Student Advisory Council is now available.There will be ten positions open. Applications are due May 31, 2012. If you have any questions please contact Mike Hatfill at 217-524-4832 or dhatfill@isbe.net. Interviews will be scheduled for mid to late July for those applicants chosen as possible candidates.

  • November 4, 2010—ISBE names 15 outstanding students to Student Advisory Council
    High school students to study impact of physical education on students and school budgets
    The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) announced today that 15 outstanding high school students from across Illinois have been selected to represent their peers on the ISBE Student Advisory Council for 2010-2011. The new council will help lead a study on physical education for high school districts and the impact on school district budgets.

    The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) announced today that 16 outstanding high school students from across Illinois have been selected to represent their peers on the ISBE Student Advisory Council for 2009-10. The new council will meet throughout the year to address education issues, including dropout prevention strategies.

    Selected high school students offer valuable insight to State Board
    The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) announced today that 15 outstanding sophomores, juniors and seniors from across Illinois have been selected to represent their peers on the ISBE Student Advisory Council for 2007-2008. The new council came together and began in their new roles during this week's September State Board meeting.

    SAC met during State Board of Education's November meetings in Springfield
    Anna Bittman of New Trier High School and Michael Byerley of Lemont High School will serve as co-chairs for the 2006-2007 Student Advisory Council (SAC) to the Illinois State Board of Education. The two seniors were elected by the 2006-2007 members at the SAC's November meeting held in Springfield.
