Settlement Agreement
In December 2005, a lawsuit was filed in the Circuit Court
for the Seventh Judicial Circuit Sangamon County, Springfield,
Illinois entitled Englert et al v. Dunn et al, Number 05-MR-678.
The lawsuit alleged, among other things, that Regional Superintendents
and Assistant Regional Superintendents did not receive statutory
cost of living adjustments for Fiscal Years 2004, 2005 and
2006. The parties to that lawsuit have entered into a Settlement
Agreement (“Agreement”). By virtue of your serving
as a Regional Superintendent or Assistant Regional Superintendent
during the relevant time period, you are a Participant as
defined in the Agreement and therefore, by properly completing
and submitting the a Claim Form, you may participate in the
benefits of the Agreement. The Agreement and the Claim Form
set out the instructions for properly completing and submitting
the Claim Form, but if you have any questions, you may call
the Illinois State Board of Education’s Human Resources
Department at 217-782-6434.
