Spring Announcements
FY09 Continuation Applications
The FY09 continuation applications for the timeframe July 1, 2008-June 30, 2009, are now available on the website, listed in the resources. These applications contain the forms that are needed to apply for continuing 21st CCLC grant funds. An informational grant packet was mailed to all official grant contacts during the week of April 21, including the FY09 allocation letter, continuation application forms, budget forms, Certifications and Assurances, Program Specific Terms of the grant, copies of the budget function and object codes, a sample budget, and directions for completing the forms. Any grantee who does not receive a packet or has questions should call the ISBE Federal Grants and Programs Division at 217/524-4832.
Grants are not automatically renewable but must have the complete set of new documents on file. Applications received after July 1 will have a start date that corresponds to when they were received in the ISBE office.
Profile and Performance Information Collection System (PPICS) Now Open
The United States Department of Education collects data regarding the 21st CCLC grants from all states each year for the Annual Performance Report (APR). This information is collected via the PPICS database. Learning Point Associates, who has the federal contract for this database ,recently e-mailed each grantee their user name and password as they announced that the window for entering data has now opened for the 2007-2008 school year. The final date by which all data must be entered is November 3, 2008. This provides ample time for completion of the data collection and entry. Grantees should refer to the memo mailed earlier this year regarding the data required for this report. A reminder memo was also mailed the week of April 21 to all grantees. Questions regarding the use of this database should be directed to Learning Point Associates help desk, 866/356-2711. Other questions may be directed to Gail Meisner at 217/524-4832 or gmeisner@isbe.net.
FY08 Budget Amendments
Budget amendments for FY08 are due in this office 30 days prior to the end date of the grant, that is by May 30 for those with an ending date of June 30, 2008, and by July 31 for those ending August 31, 2008. Budget amendments are needed if any individual budget cell changes by 20% or $1000, whichever is greater, or at any time that a new cell is opened. Amendments received after these dates cannot be accepted. Budget amendment forms are in the list of resources on this page.
New Grantee Meeting/PPICS Training
On August 13 at the Learning Point Associates offices in Naperville, two trainings will be held. One is for new FY09 grantees and the other is for those grantees who wish assistance with PPICS data entry. Specific details will be posted and mailed to grantees at a later date.
