Good bye and new contact info
It is time for me to say farewell to you all as Division
Administrator of Student Assessment. June 8, Friday, will
be my last day at ISBE. I will be going to DeKalb School
District as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and
Instruction.
At this time, no one has been hired for the Division
Administrator position but Dr. Connie Wise has agreed
to be interim Administrator. Connie has been with the
agency for many years and is the Division Administrator
for Data Analysis. She has worked very closely with Student
Assessment – knows it inside and out. We are very
lucky that she has agreed to take this role during the
transition. Many of you know her already and know that
she is an outstanding professional and administrator.
Listed below is the new contact information.
Our staff remains prepared to help you as we move into
the correction period for grades 3-8 in the next few days.
We will send out notices via numerous listservs when the
scores are ready to post. They will be posted no later
than June 11 – but if we can do it earlier, we will
let you know. Please remember that the deadline for clean
up for grades 3-8 is June 29.
It is Student Assessment’s intention to maintain
the assessment listserv throughout the next year –
it has been a great way to communicate with all of you
and I hope you have found it be worth your time.
It has been an honor and privilege to work with you all.
I believe we have accomplished a great deal in the last
3 years and we all know that the challenges were many.
Your work with students, families and communities is most
critical to the success of Illinois public education –
and we see that every day. You have taught me a great
deal! I wish you well and hope our paths will cross again.
