2013 PSAE Scores Posted on IWAS — Grade 11

PSAE 2013 scores on the Student Information System (SIS)

The 2013 preliminary results for PSAE are now available for district review in SIS. Please see http://www.isbe.net/assessment/pdfs/asmt_scores_desc.pdf for assessment score descriptions.

Checking your PSAE Data: 3 Steps

Step 1: Review the Assessment Correction Detail Report

Students whose PSAE scores are assigned to your district must be listed on your Assessment Correction report in order for their scores to be displayed in the Assessment Scores Detail report. Many student scores are not matched to a district because they are not included in the Assessment Correction report.

Once you have added students to your Assessment Correction report, their scores should match the next day after an overnight process has run its course. If scores do not match, contact the Help Desk for assistance at 217-558-3600.

Verify all demographic data in this report for accuracy, especially the “Enrolled in Home School/District on or Before May 1” fields.

Step 2: Review the Assessment Scores Detail Report:

Sort this report by “error” and take action to clear all error codes displayed in the right-most column.

If a student has no score or partial scores and DID test, check to see if the student is listed on the Unassigned Test Results report. If the student is not listed on the Unassigned Test Results report, contact Megan Forness at 1-866-317-6034.

If a student has no score and DID NOT test, please provide the “reason for not testing” code using the “Assessment” link in SIS. Reasons for not testing are defined online at www.isbe.net/sis/pdf/not_testing.pdf. Contact the SIS Help Desk at 217-558-3600 if you need additional assistance.

Step 3: Review the Unassigned Test Results Report:

Students who tested and are not listed on any districts’ Assessment Correction report appear on the Unassigned Test Results Report for both the school that tested the student and the home school reported by the school that tested the student. Claim these scores by adding the student to your Assessment Correction report.

FAQs:

How do I Invalidate or Merge PSAE scores?

If your district erroneously tested a student who was not in grade 11, district staff may contact ISBE to request that the PSAE scores be invalidated. Scores may be invalidated by calling Megan Forness at 1-866-317-6034. When the final Assessment Scores report is posted in August, invalidated PSAE scores will appear as “NA” and a PSAE score report will not be printed for the student.
If a student’s PSAE Day 1 scores appear in a row separate from the student’s PSAE Day 2 scores in the Assessment Scores report, error code 3 will appear. To clear this error code and identify these rows to be merged, contact Megan Forness at 1-866-317-6034. When the final Assessment Scores report is posted in August, the two rows will be merged into one row and PSAE scores will display.
