ISBE DELL e-Broadcast 2006.47 - UIC's NEW Program for Bilingual Special Educators
Dear Fellow Educators,
Teacher Leaders for Children (TLC): Bilingual Special Educators is a new and exciting Personnel Preparation Program for Bilingual Special Education Teachers beginning next year, June 2007 at UIC. Attached is a flyer for our program.
This TLC program is a graduate level, 5 course program leading to an LBS II certificate in Bilingual Special Education. UIC is the ONLY Illinois institution that is offering a program designed for Bilingual Special Education teachers to further their education and become specialists in this area, meeting the new NCLB requirements.
We are currently accepting applications for this program. The application deadline is March 15, 2007. Full scholarships are available to qualified applicants to complete this program.
At this time, we are requesting your assistance with distributing this information to any interested individuals, and or posting our flyer and brochure in your departments. We believe that together we can work towards offsetting the critical shortage of bilingual special education teachers in Illinois.
