ISBE DELL e-Broadcast 2008.113-The FY09 Consolidated Application to Serve ELLs in Now Available

Dear Educators Serving English Language Learners:

This message is from the Division of English Language Learning.

The “FY09 Consolidated Application to Serve ELLs” is now available at the HOT TOPICS Section of http://www.isbe.net/bilingual.

Local districts and ROEs will find:

• the FY09 Consolidated Application and information on how to download the application;
• streaming video segments discussing how to fill out the application. (Specific segments may be viewed multiple times)
• a series of related links (e.g. downloading instructions, Fiscal Requirements and Procedures with Function Codes starting on page 23;
• a link to the list of  ISBE Consultants

In an on-going effort to serve local districts, ISBE DELL will be convening two phone conferences to answer additional questions about the application on May 1 & 2, 2008.  Although districts may RSVP for either session, May 1 is targeted to veteran applicants and May 2 to newer or less experienced applicants. Interested districts must RSVP in advance to participate in one of two phone conference calls.

As a reminder, the FY09 Consolidated Application to Serve ELLs is NOT

• on IWAS
• part of the e-grant system
• available for use on Apple computers

Completed applications must be postmarked by June 30, 2008.
