ISBE DELL E-Broadcast 2011.210 - Content and Language Integration as a Means of Bridging Success (CLIMBS) Course Offering

For the fifth year in a row, West 40 will be offering “Content and Language Integration as a Means of Bridging Success (CLIMBS)” to educators who work with English language learners (ELLs). 

Initially designed by the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) and piloted at West 40 in 2007, the CLIMBS course capitalizes on the strengths of English Language Learners and fosters professional collaboration among general, bilingual/ESL and special education teachers.  CLIMBS was designed to assist K-12 teachers facilitate academic language and literacy development in English for ELLs. 

The course is scheduled to meet on October 26, 2011; November 16, 2011; December 14, 2011; January 18, 2012 and February 22, 2012.  Teams of interested educators may register for CLIMBS at http://www.west40.org
