CTE Curriculum Revitalization Initiative
The Illinois State Board of Education’s Career Development
and Preparation Division is creating a Curriculum Revitalization
Initiative web site. The mission of this web site resource
is to enhance the instructional program improvement of career
and technical education (CTE) programs throughout Illinois
by aligning lessons with the Illinois Learning Standards,
content-specific National Standards, Workplace Skills, and
Occupational Skills Standards. The purpose is to distribute
lesson plans that address Illinois Learning Standards for
mathematics, science, English/language arts, social studies,
etc. and include Power Point slide sets, sample test items
and assessments, and other reference materials to Illinois
educators in the four CTE curricular areas of: (1) Business,
Marketing and Management, (2) Family and Consumer Sciences,
(3) Health Science Technology, and (4) Industrial Technology.
The web site resource would resemble an existing web site
for the 5th CTE area–Agricultural Education–at
www.agriculturaleducation.org.
