The Chicago Certification Office is designed to assist teachers,
school service personnel, and school administrators who live
or work in the City of Chicago. Specifically, the division:
facilitates the submission of documents for review by the
Illinois State Board of Education; issues substitute teaching
certificates and paraprofessional approvals; disseminates
information about certification, endorsement, recertification,
and registration requirements; accepts and processes fees
for certification; serves as the No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
resource on behalf of ISBE to Chicago Public Schools (CPS);
reports on progress of CPS implementation of NCLB; and much
more.
