SPECIAL NOTE TO OUT-OF-STATE CANDIDATES Under
certain conditions, some individuals may be eligible for
a waiver of the Basic Skills and/or content area test.
Applicants should not assume eligibility for a test waiver
and should be prepared to complete the appropriate Illinois
tests. Also, please note that
there are no waivers for the APT test. All applicants seeking Illinois teacher
certification must pass the appropriate APT test.
Applicants seeking testing waivers should download ISBE
form 73-99 (Confirmation of
State Certification Tests Taken) and complete Part I. Part II must be completed
by the
State Department of Education where the applicant passed the out of state test(s).
The state department of education submitting the form on your behalf must send
the form directly to the Illinois State Board of Education, Division of Certification.
The address is given at the top of the form. If form 73-99 is forwarded to
the State Board by the applicant or a Regional Office of Education it will
not be honored under any circumstance.
