Electronic Grants Management System (eGMS)

The electronic Grants Management System was developed in FY 2005 with the primary goal of reducing grant preparation time for local education agencies, improve data quality and communications, standardize ISBE grant applications, and improve efficiency of the grant review and approval. The first application created in the eGMS was the NCLB Consolidated application. Other grant programs developed to date are indicated below.

  • NCLB Consolidated application (2005)
    • Title I, Part A, Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged
    • Title II, Part A, Teacher Quality
    • Title II, Part D, Enhancing Education Through Technology (formula grant)
    • Title IV, Part A, Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities
    • Title V, Part A, Innovative Programs
  • Title VI, Rural Education Initiative (2006)
  • Early Childhood Block Grant (Continuing) 3-5 (2006)
  • Early Childhood Block Grant (Continuing) 0-3 (2006)
  • Reading Improvement Block Grant (2006)
  • IDEA Part B Flow Through and Preschool (scheduled for 2008)

Local education agencies must use ISBE’s Web Application Security System (IWAS) to access eGMS and submit the eGMS applications via the Internet.

Access eGMS through IWAS Secured Site

Please make sure that you have your approval groups properly assigned through IWAS in order to access eGMS and submit your applications. eGMS will significantly reduce grant preparation time for local education agencies, improve data quality and communications, standardize ISBE grant applications, and improve efficiency of the grant review and approval process.
