ADA Americans with Disabilities Act.
ADA Average Daily Attendance. Used in calculating
General State Aid - the aggregate number of pupil days in
attendance divided by the number of days in the regular school
session.

BOCA Building Officials & Code Administrators.
The BOCA National Building Code is the regulation used in

CDB Capital Development Board. A state agency
that oversees state government construction
Certificate of Occupancy A school board wishing
to occupy a facility shall submit an application to the regional
superintendent. The regional superintendent shall respond
to a request for a certificate of occupancy when all work
covered in a building permit is completed. A Certificate of
Partial Occupancy may be given for areas of completed work
in a large construction project. A Certificate of Temporary
Occupancy is given for rented, leased, vehicular or modular
facilities once each year.

Fire Protection The provision of construction
safeguards and exit facilities; and the installation of fire
alarm, fire-detecting and fire-extinguishing service equipment
to reduce the fire risk, including the risk involved in the

buildings and structures. (This general term is used to define
any mechanical system or structural component used in a building
to reduce the risk of fire to occupants).

for the comfort and convenience of workers and the public.
Per the Health/Life Safety Code Part 180.60 public schools
shall conform to this code.
