Assessments
Foreign Languages Classroom Assessments Aligned to the
Illinois Learning Standards.
The assessments are coded according to standard and stage.
Example: 28A.A is aligned to standard 28A, stage A (first
year of language study). Sample student work, when available,
will follow the assessment.
28A.D - Weather Forecast 
Identify cities where the target language is spoken.
28B.D - Making Social Arrangements

Make social arrangements.
28B.D - Following Directions
Draw objects described by the teacher on a piece of blank
paper.
28C.D - Two Plus Two 
Solve simple math problems in the target language using words
instead of numerals.
28D.D - Paragraph on a Familiar Topic
Write a paragraph about a familiar topic in the target language.
29A.D - Following Instructions

Follow instructions given in the target language.
29B.D - Artists' and Their Cultures 
Research, prepare and present a report on artists and their
culture in the target language.
29C.D - Reading for Comprehension (German/Spanish)
Read a selected passage and demonstrate comprehension.
29D.D - Historical Timeline
Identify key historical events and organize them in chronological
sequence.
29 E.D - Planning a Bicycle Race
Plan and describe in the target language a route for a bicycle
race.
30 A.D - A Shopping List 
Convey information about clothing in the target language.
30B.D - Predictions 
Students will determine from a set of clues and circumstances,
which types of jobs or occupations particular individuals
might select.
