Assessments
Foreign Languages Classroom Assessments Aligned
to the Illinois Learning Standards.
The assessments are coded according to standard and
stage. Example: 28A.E is aligned to standard 28A, stage
E (fifth year of language study). Sample student work,
when available, will follow the assessment.
28A.E - What Did They Say?

Describe the action of a story.
28B.E - Making Social Arrangements

Interact with a partner to make arrangements for a social
engagement.
28C.E - Luck of the Draw 
After choosing a series of prepared cards, the students
will read cards one at a time and perform the instructions
written on the card.
28D.E - Newscast 
Students will present a 2-3 minute version of a newscast
to include news, current events, weather and sports.
29A.E - Presentation of Cultural
Project 
Demonstrate understanding of customs in the target language
society.
29B.E - Famous Artist

Using a visual or audio aid, students will prepare and
present orally a five to seven minute report on an important
artist.
29C.E - My Commercial

After listening to an audio selection or watching a
video commercial promoting a product or an event students
will write their version of the original presentation.
29D.E - Influences on Cultures

Make an oral presentation in the target language.
29E.E - Graphic Geography

Describe geographical features of an area where the
target language is spoken.
30A.E - Take the Next Train
Students will use a train schedule to complete a 10-question
comprehension and application quiz.
30B.E - Career Scrapbook
Prepare a career scrapbook with pictures
and descriptions of careers.
