Assessments
Foreign Languages Classroom Assessments Aligned
to the Illinois Learning Standards.
The assessments are coded according to standard and
stage. Example: 28A.F is aligned to standard 28A, stage
F (fifth year of language study). Sample student work,
when available, will follow the assessment.
28A.F - What's the Connection? 
Demonstrate understanding of a segment of a familiar
video in the target language and note characteristics
and relationships of the characters/objects.
28B.F - Friendly Persuasion 
Interact with a partner to role-play two students discussing
vacations, leisure time activities and summer jobs.
28C.F - Proverbs Project
Demonstrate understanding of two or more proverbs from
a target language society on the same topic or theme.
28D.F - Simple Original Poem
Write a five-line diamond poem in the target
language.
29A.F - Name That Event
Identify festivals, national events or holidays in the
target language.
29B.F - Gallery Tour 
Students will act as museum docents, giving their classmates
a tour of a classroom gallery of art works.
29C.F - Advertisement Poster 
Students will make a poster for a product after watching
commercials in the target language or after seeing advertisements.
29D.F - History Jeopardy
Students will prepare a jeopardy game in which they
have five main categories of questions, based on history,
trends, people, dates, geography.
29E.F - Cartographer 
Understand geography of various target language societies
by creating a brochure and map of a country of their
choice where the target language is spoken.
30A.F - What's Your Fitness IQ? 
Contact students from the target culture using the internet
and poll them on diet, nutrition and fitness concerns
and collect data to create a poster depicting results.
30B.F - Interview at a Placement
Bureau 
Demonstrate knowledge of interview skills in a role-play
situation.
