The performance descriptors are a supplement - not a replacement
- for the Illinois Learning Standards. They are intended to
help teachers align their curricula to the standards and to
help students meet performance expectations at ten stages
of educational development.
During the 2000-01 and 2001-02 school years, a representative
sample of Illinois teachers field tested classroom assessments
and collected student work samples for all the descriptors.
Links to these assessments are found below, and many have
"meets" and "exceeds" work samples at
the end of the documents.
