Mathematics Classroom Assessments Aligned to the Illinois
Learning Standards
The assessments are coded according to learning standard
and stage. Example: 6A.D is aligned to standard 6A, stage
D (fourth grade). Sample student work, when available, will
follow the assessment.
6A & 6B & 6D.D - Problem Solvers

Solve one-step and multi-step word problems involving fractions
and decimals.
6A & 6B & 8B & 8C
& 8D.D - Tortillas
Convert a recipe in order to serve a larger group of people.
7A.D - U.S. Customary and Metric Conversions

Make conversions within and between U. S. customary measurements
and metric measurements to solve problems using a conversion
chart.
7A & 7B.D - Polygon Perimeters and
Areas 
Create four polygons with a given perimeter and calculate
the area of each polygon.
7C.D - Got Milk? 
Draw an acute, obtuse and right angles, name and measure angles,
and measure volume of a cube using inch and centimeter cubes.
8A & 8B & 8C.D - Let's Party

Complete a chart for seating people at a party and make predictions
based on the chart.
9A & 9C.D - In the Neighborhood

Draw a scale map of a neighborhood on a sunny day, write a
description of their neighborhood using geometric
terms.
9B.D - Shapes and More Shapes 
Identify the lines of symmetry in regular polygons and predict
the number of lines of symmetry in an octagon.
10A.D - Reaching New Heights 
Determine the range, mode, mean, and median of a data set.
10B & 10D.D - Cold Enough?

Read and record outside air temperatures each day, display
the data showing the differences in daily temperatures, and
compare the real data with original predictions
and make predictions about outside play time for the following
month.
