Letters for Superintendents
October 3, 2005.
This letter is to notify your district and Title I schools, if not
already completed, that you must develop a written districtwide
parental involvement policy, local school parental involvement policy,
and complete school-parent compacts. [See 20 U.S.C. Section 1118
et seq. (ESEA)]
September 28, 2005.
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) requires notification
to schools and districts before the beginning of school with the
final determination for Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).
September 14, 2005.
You will find a parent letter which the State Board of Education
is asking that you disseminate in an appropriate manner to the parents
of your district.

In accordance with ESEA Section 1111(h)(6) PARENTS RIGHT-TO-KNOW,
at the beginning of each school year, a school district that receives
funds under this part shall notify the parents of each student attending
any school receiving funds under this part that the parents may
request, and the district will provide the parents on request (and
in a timely manner), information regarding the professional qualifications
of the student's classroom teachers, including, at a minimum, the
following:
July 12, 2005.

Your school/district is required to prepare the letters applicable
for Choice and/or SES to send to your parents.
July 11, 2005.
