Ridgeland School District #122 makes Adequate Yearly
Progress for 2003-2004
State Board of Education announces results
of districts appeal
Springfield, Ill. The Illinois State Board of Education
(ISBE) has announced that Ridgeland School District #122
in Oak Lawn made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in 2003-2004,
meeting all the assessment and accountability requirements
under the federal No Child Left Behind law. Ridgeland
School District #122 was initially labeled as not making
AYP in ISBEs December 2004 announcement of Illinois
2003-2004 district and school results.
Upon the districts appeal and ISBE staffs
review of the districts data, discrepancies in Ridgeland
School District #122 data were corrected. After these
corrections, ISBE has found that the district made AYP
in 2003-2004.
The districts successful appeal is extremely important,
as AYP is the critical measure of success under the federal
No Child Left Behind law.
