Professional Development
Professional development activities are offered to increase
the knowledge and skills of food service professionals and
administrators in the operation of Child Nutrition Programs.
These activities address topics such as federal regulations,
food service quality, nutrition education, and financial management.
Continued emphasis is given to addressing timely topics as
needed. Professional development includes instructor-led workshops,
online videos and various educational opportunities sponsored
by the National Food Service Management Institute (NFSMI).
Workshops
The staff from the Illinois State Board of Education offers
workshops in various locations around the state to keep program
sponsors informed on regulatory and new or updated issues.
Workshops are offered as they become available and are announced
in the program newsletters. You may obtain information regarding
the various workshops offered on our Workshops/Trainings page.
