Proposed Amendments to Part 305 (School Food Service)
The version of these amendments that is now posted at this location is the version adopted by the State Board of Education at its meeting on September 18. Based on the public comment received, the Board acted to remove the proposed nutrition standards from the rulemaking. Review of these amendments by the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules will occur at JCAR’s October meeting.
As adopted by the Board, these amendments require that each public school announce at the beginning of the school year the availability of free lunches and, as applicable, free breakfasts under the Illinois Free Lunch and Breakfast Programs. Other technical changes have been made that eliminate obsolete provisions.
