Reporting to a Supervisor, the lead will be responsible for assisting department management with procedures related to all special education grants and contracts funded by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B and D Grants and State Appropriations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • ​​​​Initiates procurement processes and procedures for special education contracts in accordance with state and federal regulations for special education contracts, including the development of requests for sealed proposals, invitations to bid, or other approve procurement methods.
  • ​​​​Conducts contract and invoice reviews.
  • ​​​​Initiates requests for proposals for grants.
  • ​​​​Monitors expenditures for contracts and grants and completes required tracking forms and other reports associated with the grants.
  • ​​​​Collaborates with and trains program staff responsible for project oversight.
  • ​​​​Collaborates with other agency departments with responsibility for special education grants and contracts.
  • ​​​​Attends meetings and responds to inquiries from project staff.
  • ​​​​Assists department management with budget development and oversight and other special education fiscal matters.
  • ​​​​Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree, or, a Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant professional experience with federal or state grants or contracts. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION)
  • Two years of experience (in addition to education requirements) within the last five years working with budgets, grants, or contracts at the local, state, or university level.
  • Skilled in aspects of fiscal or grant management.
  • Ability to coordinate the completion of projects and work effectively with diverse teams.​​
Preferred Qualifications
  • ​​​Previous training with special education.
  • Experience managing large projects and/or special assignments.
  • ​Experience with special education. ​
