Reporting to the Director, is responsible for the development, implementation, and support of statewide assessment of Illinois public school students. Works under the supervision of management and in collaboration with peers to plan, schedule, monitor, overview and support all state accountability assessments. Works with test contractors and others within the department using appropriate project management tools and practices to ensure quality, timely, and appropriate products and supports for the field.

  • Coordinates the development, implementation, and support of statewide assessments, including the design and development of the assessment procedures, manuals, and instruments.​​​
  • Serves as the backup contact for the field regarding all state accountability assessments. ​​​
  • Serves as department support liaison assisting all internal staff and external stakeholders to ensure compatibility of data across systems, appropriate test administration practices, and the integrity and accuracy of reported data.​​​
  • Assists in the accomplishment of the department's functions including conducting and providing technical assistance to educators, administrators, parent organizations, other agencies and the community on agency and department initiatives, projects and requirements.​​​
  • Participates in the development, ongoing review/revision, and presentation of publications, documents, presentations, and other materials that are required to carry out the department's activities.​​​
  • Performs other duties as assigned.​​​
  • ​​Master's Degree, or, a Bachelor's Degree plus two years of relevant professional experience. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION)
  • Two years of experience (in addition to education requirements) in education.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding accountability assessment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • ​​Degree in Education, Education Administration, Human Development, Statistics or Evaluation.
  • ​​Teaching and/or Administrative Certificate.
  • ​​Experience in management of large scale assessment and/or accountability systems, management of contracts, and project management.
  • ​​Experience working with students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
  • ​​Experience in a variety of educational settings.
  • ​​Knowledge of state accountability assessments.
  • ​​Knowledge of current issues and best practices in the field of assessment.
  • ​​Knowledge of methods, practices and procedures for serving students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
  • ​​​Second language proficiency.
