Intended Audience:

Teachers, Curriculum Coordinators, School/District Administration

These video segments demonstrate possible methods for teachers to use to assess student understanding of specific targeted CCSS. By observing the students as they create or participate in an activity, teachers can determine if students have met the standard at the level of rigor needed. If more detailed information is needed, teachers should refer to the Common Core State Standards for a deeper understanding and more detailed information. A link to the CCSS can be found in the right hand column of the ISBE Common Core Professional Learning Series home page.

Suggested Use for these Segments:

Teachers and administrators may view the video segments to get ideas of different methods to elicit observable evidence of student proficiency. A clear understanding of the targeted standard and a rubric to clearly assess the results is recommended.
