The vision for Peer Learning Partners is borne from the belief ISBE holds that some of the best professional learning a school can participate in, occurs when work is done alongside a peer. The application process ensures that approved Peer Learning Partners will have demonstrated success with the implementation of a proven and effective practice.

ISBE approves qualified Exemplary and Commendable schools as IL-EMPOWER Peer Learning Partners. Peer Learning Partners provide support services for schools identified to receive comprehensive or targeted support. All schools may recruit the services of approved Peer Learning Partners. Peer Learning Partners give schools the opportunity to work alongside educational leaders who personally faced and overcame challenges like theirs.  The addition of Peer Learning Partners to the vetted IL-EMPOWER network leverages the deep expertise in Illinois’ schools to support students in the greatest need.

ISBE uses a comprehensive vetting process to carefully review each Peer Learning Partner application. The process includes evaluating each application for the following:
  • Evidence of student success sustained over time through the continuous school improvement process;
  • Articulation of a plan to replicate success to support peers through the continuous school improvement process, including implementation and evaluation; and
  • Evidence of applicant’s capacity to support receiving schools through continuous school improvement.

BY PRIORITY AREA

The Illinois Quality Framework and Supporting Rubric are a part of the needs assessment that helps schools identify one or more of three Priority Areas: Governance and Management, Climate and Culture, or Curriculum and Instruction.  School and district officials can click on the corresponding button(s) below to search through approved Learning Partners that specialize in a particular Priority Area so that they can easily find an approved Learning Partner that meets their needs.

IL-EMPOWER is regularly adding to our current list of approved Learning Partners and will continue to update these webpages as new partners are approved.  Please check back to our partner webpages for updates.

By Region

As part of the application and vetting process, each approved Learning Partner has identified the Regions(s) within the State of Illinois in which they are able to provide support.  Schools and districts can click on the Region in which they are located to view a list of approved Learning Partners that will support that Region.  Please note that schools and districts are to then narrow the list of Learning Partners that specialize in one of the three priority Priority Areas (Governance and Management, Curriculum and Instruction, and Culture and Climate) as identified by the Illinois Quality Framework Supporting Rubric.
