This Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) page will be updated as information becomes available. The ISA is
not an alternate assessment. Students who participate in the DLM-AA alternate assessment will be assessed in science in grades 5, 8, and 11.
In compliance with federal testing requirements, Illinois will administer a science assessment to students enrolled in a public school district in grades 5, 8 and 11. The assessment will be administered in an online format and is aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards for Science incorporating the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), which were adopted in 2014.
- Test Window Dates: Wednesday, March 1, 2023 - Friday, April 28, 2023 - 5pm CT
- Please update you
district EPS contact information and add an ISA coordinator for your district.
The ISA ISBE Teach/Learn portal is now closed and cannot be reopened.
The corrections window in IWAS is now open from May 2- June 19.
If you know a student will need a "Reason for No Valid Test Attempt" (RNVTA) code, those with district IWAS access may enter those codes at this time.
Student testing data will transfer from ISBE Teach to IWAS the week of May 23rd, allowing schools to match ISA student test attempts with your school's ISBE Teach/ IWAS roster data.
