The PUNS (Prioritization for Urgency of Need for Services) is a statewide waiting list of individuals with developmental disabilities that have applied for, and are awaiting, funding and/or services. Before one can be awarded funding for services, one must register on the PUNS list by meeting with a Pre-Admission Screening/Independent Service Coordination Agency (PAS/ISC) to determine eligibility for services. This application must be kept up-to-date annually. Once you have signed up for the PUNS, the wait for funding varies widely between individuals. Some may receive funding in months while others may have to wait several years. There is currently not enough funding available to give everyone in Illinois the services that they need.
