Testing Platform: TSM or COS

Districts should use the Testing Site Manager (TSM) on WIDA-AMS for the ACCESS test this spring (2019). However, if your district is using DRC products like LAS Links, you may have access to Central Office Services (COS). Districts with COS may use this platform for ACCESS testing instead.

January 4, 2019: An Overview of the WIDA Testing Platform TSM - For New Coordinators
The DRC INSIGHT technology for the 2019 WIDA ACCESS administration is the same platform as last year. This session provided an overview of the DRC INSIGHT system including information on securing testing devices and using the Testing Site Manager (TSM) for hosting test content onsite. The session was primarily intended for new Technology Coordinators but is a worthwhile refresher for experienced coordinators as well. Time for Q&A was included. The Illinois ACCESS testing window is January 16 through February 19, 2019 (unless another window was requested).

Software Options for ACCESS Testing

For the Spring 2019 administration of ACCESS for ELLs, school districts have the two options listed below due to the pending resolution of DRC serving as the vendor for the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR):

  • Use TSM for ACCESS testing, then replace it with COS for the IAR (assuming both tests are administered on the same devices).
  • Install COS before ACCESS testing to use for both ACCESS and IAR.
