​The data in this report is collected annually from all Illinois school districts via a survey every fall.  Each district reports its unfilled positions as of October 1 of the reporting year. This report highlights all unfilled positions (such as Administrative, School Support Personnel, and Teaching) reported to the Illinois State Board of Education for school year 2017.

*In accordance with 34 CFR 682.210(q)(6), teacher shortage areas include “Adult Education,” “Reading Specialist,” and all teaching positions except “Head Teacher” and “z-Other Subject or Program Area Not Listed.
