Section 10-17 of the School Code (105 ILCS 5/10-17) requires school districts/joint agreements to complete the Annual Statement of Affairs (ASA).

To meet this requirement, annually the district must:

  1. Publish the ASA in a newspaper of general circulation on or before December 1.
  2. Post on the school district's website on or before December 1.

The ASA is separate from the Annual Financial Report (AFR).

Any ASA published or posted late will be marked as a finding on the audit questionnaire page of the AFR.​

School District Requirement - Report all Contracts Exceeding $25,000

School districts are required to complete a report on Awarded Contracts Exceeding $25,000 (Contracts Exceeding $25,000) to conform with sub-section (c) of Section 10-20.44 of the School Code (105 ILCS 5/10-20.44) (added by PA 95-707).

In addition, school boards must list on the district's website all contracts exceeding $25,000 and any contract that the school board enters into with an exclusive bargaining representative.
