While current convention discourages the use of a minor’s full name in teacher dismissal hearing decisions, it is possible that older decisions may contain a minor’s full name. If you find an instance where a minor’s full name has been used, please e-mail Kim Grice at
kgrice@isbe.net with the year & name of decision so that we can redact the minor’s name.
Further, please note that in dismissal cases involving Chicago Board of Education (CBOE), the hearing officer issues only a recommendation to the CBOE, and the CBOE issues the decision. 105 ILCS 5/34-85. Where available we have posted a copy of the CBOE decision in conjunction with the hearing officer’s recommendation, and we are working with CBOE to obtain the rest. Results of administrative reviews or appeals are also not posted at this time.
