How to Apply

​Welcome! We encourage you to participate in the Child​ and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Your institution may qualify to receive reimbursement to provide nutritious meals and snacks to the children in your care.

PART 1: Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA)
  • To apply to participate in a federally funded Child Nutrition Program, you must complete the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) registration process, and be qualified to do business with the State of Illinois. Once complete and all status are listed as “good,” you can move ahead with Part 2.​
PART 2: Application
  • Institutions may apply to participate in the CACFP program at any time during the year. Print two copies of your submitted application documents, keep one copy for your files, and either e-mail documents to CNP@isbe.net, fax to (217) 524-6124 or mail the originals to the Illinois State Board of Education. Exception: Food vendor contracts, keep the original at your facility, and send in one copy.
