The USDA Food Buying Guide (FBG) is an essential tool developed to assist operators in purchasing the right amount of food and purchasing it most economically. In addition, the FBG is a good resource for determining the specific contribution each food makes toward the meal pattern requirements to ensure that meals provide necessary nourishment and meet program requirements for reimbursement.
