Users have the ability to search data by:
- Region
- District
- Site Name
- Enrollment Range
- Site County
- Site City
- Eligibility Percent Range
The mapping tool has been split into two sections. Detail and analysis. The default mode when the map loads is detail. To switch from detail to analysis mode simply click the button marked detail/analysis and you will be able to toggle between both modes freely. Detail mode will show a breakdown of the selected criteria's total free, reduced, and paid eligible totals while analysis will show trends.
For the users convenience
a Region has been pre-selected to disable the entire contents of the map from loading, which has a tendency to slow down the page. Be sure to
deselect this region prior to entering in your search criteria. For your convenience that region is Adam/Brwn/Cass/Morgan/Pik/Etc. In addition, all the years presented at the top of the page are preselected too so in order to choose a specific year your mouse pointer over your desired year and click your mouse button. The year should turn light blue when properly selected. You can select as many years as you wish. To deselect a year just click it again so it returns to white.
To select multiple criteria in other areas of the map (Region, District, Site County, Site City, and Site Name) please hold the Ctrl key while making your selections.
The map in the upper right hand corner displays sites (illustrated as blue points) in the selected criteria. A broader search shows a more expanded view of the map while a narrower search shows a more detailed portion of the map. The number in the left hand corner of the map displays the specific number of sites in the selected criteria. If you hover over one of the sites the site name, longitude, latitude, enrollment, and average eligibility percent is displayed. If one of the points is selected by clicking with the mouse the circle graph displays the statistics of that selected site along with the average site enrollment and free and reduced eligibility. To deselect the site and return to the previous view simply select the same point again and the previous data will return.
The circle graph in the center of the tool represents the average number of free, reduced, and paid eligible based upon the users selected criteria.
The data at the bottom
left of the screen is populated by program year, RCDT, district name, site number, region name, site name, public or private, contact information, and presents a breakdown of the free, reduced, and paid eligibles associated with the user's selected criteria.
The data at the bottom
right of the screen shows the totals of the free, reduced, and paid eligible along with enrollment totals associated with the user's selected criteria.
When the mapping tool is changed to analysis mode the totals are switched over to trending analysis graphs for free, reduced, paid eligible, and enrollment categorized by year.
There is an extremely small standard deviation included in the mapping data vs. the posted data. This is due to factors beyond our control such as multiple students crossing eligibility categories and CEP historical data not being accounted for.
Eligibility Percent is calculated using the following formula:
Free Eligibles + Reduced Eligibles = Free & Reduced Eligibility
Total Enrollment
Free & Reduced Eligibility Percent for Schools Participating in CEP is calculated using the following formula:
CEP Identified Students X 1.6 = Free & Reduced Eligibility
CEP Enrollment
The CEP identified students and CEP enrollment data is pulled from WINS and ran in the background of the mapping tool and are not visible when using the tool. However, those numbers are included in the posted data from 2017 and back. In 2018 we began omitting those numbers from the posted data because of the two different formulas used in determining the percentages.
