| | | Educator Preparation and Licensure Projects Coordinator (Principal Consultant #1640) | | 1640 | | Springfield | | IFSOE | | Educator Effectiveness | | $62,449 - $78,917 | | $62,449 - $106,278 | | Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. | | February 18, 2026 | | Open Until Filled | Reporting to the Supervisor, this position will work closely with Educator Preparation Providers (EPPs--mostly colleges and universities) across the state to prepare individuals to become teachers and other educators. Duties range from supporting EPPs as they develop new preparation programs and incorporate new standards into their programs, representing the department and ISBE at stakeholder meetings, assisting stakeholders such as EPPs and prospective or current teachers with educator licensure questions, and leading or participating in ISBE efforts to combat teacher shortages. Additionally, this individual will work on yearly development and enhancement of the Illinois Educator Preparation Profile (IEPP) and the Annual Program Report (APR) data application. This individual will also provide oversight of grants and contracts awarded through the Educator Effectiveness Department. This individual will work as part of a team on some initiatives, but will also work autonomously on various projects and tasks. | - Leads and serves as a team member for various department projects and initiatives related to educator preparation, recruitment, and retention as well as projects and efforts pertaining to licensure and license renewal.
- Works closely with management to keep all department projects on task for completion by the required deadline.
- Oversees department grants and contracts, including awarding, monitoring, reporting, and communicating with grantees and contractors.
- Provides quality project management, plans and leads meetings, and analyzes data to make informed decisions on work products.
- Provides exemplary service and technical assistance to stakeholders via written, telephone, electronic, and personal communication.
- Conducts audits, develops and delivers trainings, evaluates applications for licensure, creates/reviews/edits documents, and represents the Agency and department at events and meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
| - Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant professional experience. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION)
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: experience writing, monitoring, and overseeing grants (either as a grantee or as the grant administrator).
- Experience working with education policy.
- Experience utilizing the Illinois School Code and Illinois Administrative Code to drive decisions.
- Experience working in an education setting with tasks and duties related to educator preparation, licensure, or renewal.
- Able to be a self-starter who can learn new processes and procedures quickly and make sound decisions independently.
- Skilled in critical thinking and leadership.
- Skilled in public speaking and written communication.
- Possess excellent collaboration and organization skills.
- Possess a strong work ethic and continuous-improvement mindset.
- Able to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to use a computer.
| - Master's degree in Education.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Experience working as a teacher, school support personnel, or administrator in a public school or early learning center.
- Experience working in educator preparation (within a college or university).
- Experience working in the education sector.
- Experience creating resources or training documents.
- Experience delivering trainings or presentations to groups.
- Knowledge of educator preparation and licensure requirements in Illinois.
- Working knowledge of the Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS), Annual Program Report (APR) system, and Illinois Educator Preparation Profile (IEPP).
- Working knowledge of administering and monitoring grants and contracts for a state agency.
