This position is responsible for managing both the Technology Support & Infrastructure and Software Solutions Departments. | - Responsible for the oversight of all IT functions at ISBE to ensure the operations are effectively managed with the Agency's mission, vision, and goals.
- Works with agency leadership to develop strategy, determine priorities, define projects, and develop technology roadmaps to effectively support agency operations.
- Communicates technology needs to senior leadership.
- Oversees implementation and integration of agency computer system and software applications.
- Troubleshoots and finds solutions for technology issues as they arise.
- Recommends system and application upgrades as needed.
- Responsible for management of Technology Support & Infrastructure and Software Solutions departments; ensures internal and external user needs are being met.
- Manages security of information technology.
- Assesses risks and implements controls to ensure systems and associated data maintained is secure.
- Performs administrative duties associated with procurement.
- Oversees and develops the IT budget.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
| - Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT) or Computer Science plus five years of experience in IT management in the last seven years, or, a Bachelor's degree in any field plus seven years of experience in IT management in the last ten years. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION)
- Five years of IT management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of information technology.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to work independently on issues and projects and to participate cooperatively on group projects.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Strong analytical /critical thinking/problem solving skills.
