Teachers and school leaders are tasked with improving student outcomes, closing achievement gaps and preparing students for college and career.  To ensure all students have access to rigorous academics aligned with current Illinois learning standards to master these tasks, the academics team provides training and tools such as leadership, guidance, professional learning, high-quality educational resources, and instructional supports to enhance educational outcomes for all teachers and students.

Illinois Learning Standards

The Illinois Learning Standards (ILS) for all academic content and non-academic subject areas can be found on ISBE's Illinois Learning Standards page. If there are specific questions regarding the standards or requests for professional learning, please email: ilteachtalklearn@isbe.net. A member of the Curriculum and Instruction Department will respond.

The Illinois Priority Learning Standards for 2020-21 have been made available to support districts and educators in their discussions for course planning and implementation during and post-pandemic.
