According to Section 13A-9 of the Safe Schools Law, if a district is required to provide free transportation to students pursuant to Section 29-3 of the School Code, and administratively transfers a student to a Regional Safe School, the district shall provide free transportation for the student to the Regional Safe School, unless other arrangements have been agreed upon by the parents, school and regional superintendent. The regional superintendent may arrange for cooperative transportation among districts in the region to reduce the costs of transportation and to provide for greater accessibility by students to attend the Regional Safe School.

If a district is not required to provide free transportation, the district is not required to provide transportation to students transferred to the Regional Safe School.
