These recently released guides and resources from the U.S. Department of Education focus on supporting justice-involved youth in making a successful transition back to traditional educational settings. These resources include a fact sheet on reducing recidivism for justice-involved youth; a transition guide written specifically for justice-involved youth; an updated transition toolkit and resource guide for practitioners in juvenile justice facilities; a document detailing education programs in juvenile justice facilities from the most recent Civil Rights Data Collection; and a website that provides technical assistance to support youth with disabilities as they transition out of juvenile justice facilities. These tools and resources focus on helping youth who are exiting the juvenile justice system to build the skills they need to succeed in school and the workplace, reach their full potential, and become productive citizens.
