Born, Built, Grown: Illinois Learning Resources from the People’s House supports Illinois educators as they strive to educate their students about our state, using the lens of the Illinois Governor's Mansion and important past governors.

This collection of learning resources provides Illinois teachers with a variety of activity ideas that connect to exhibits and individuals highlighted at the Governor's Mansion. It aims to inspire educators and serve as an idea-starter for ways to enhance content within the classroom. While emphasizing social sciences and social-emotional development activities, this resource provides content supporting development in science, math, and writing as well.

The ideas and activities found here provide entry points to deeper investigations that fully address the Illinois Learning Standards. Use this booklet as a launching point to think outside the box and allow students to investigate the rich variety of topics connected to the Illinois Governor's Mansion!
