Seven Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Hubs are housed within six Regional Offices of Education across the state and Chicago Public Schools.

The SEL Hubs provide:

  • Professional development, training, and capacity-building support to districts and regional offices in their area to establish and expand SEL and trauma-responsive programming in Illinois schools.
  • Coaching for social-emotional learning programs in Illinois schools.
  • Training for educators, school mental health professionals, and community members.

The SEL Hubs assist:

  • School-community leadership teams to implement data-driven strategies to address student trauma and mental health needs and build resilient communities.
  • School-community leadership teams to implement universal mental health screening by providing coaching, professional development, and access to existing resources.
  • Schools and districts participating in the Resilience Supportive Schools Illinois (RSSI) Roadmap with leadership and coaching to create a trauma-focused action plan for their school.
  • Schools and districts with the phased implementation of universal mental health screening.
