The Multilingual Department ​provides leadership, advocacy and support to districts, parents and policy makers by promoting equitable access to language support services for students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds who have been identified as English Learners.​​​

FY 2021 Title III Intent to Apply Application

Please be informed that the Title III Intent to Apply application for school year 2010-21 is available on IWAS. If your district wishes to apply for the Title III Language Instruction Educational Program (LIEP) or Immigrant Education Program funding and has not done so, you must complete and submit the FY 2021 Title III Intent to Apply on IWAS by March 1, 2020. Districts have until March 31, 2020, to make necessary corrections on SIS to their EL enrollment and placement data for purposes of the eGMS ceiling calculator for LIEP funding allotment.

Important Note – A district applying for the Title III grants is required to conduct meaningful consultation with every private school located within the district’s boundary. The Nonpublic School Consultation Participation form must be completed and uploaded as part of the Intent to Apply application for all identified private schools, regardless of whether they choose to participate or identify any English Learners to receive services provided by Title III funding. In the case that a private school refuses to meet for purposes of holding meaningful consultation, please print the following statement on the form with the information of the private school at the top and sign the statement: “Private school [insert name] refused meaningful consultation.” The Nonpublic School Consultation Participation form must be uploaded for each private school in the district.
