The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Nutrition Department administers a variety of U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) child nutrition programs. We have the School Nutrition Programs (SNP) that provides meals to school aged children mainly through the school year with an option for those participants to also participate in the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) in order to provide meals to children during school breaks. There is also the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) that provides meals to children during summer breaks and/or other specific types of breaks from the school year. Additionally, we administer the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) for children in child care centers and child care homes. Please click on the box below for more information about each of these program types.
