The Office of the General Counsel of the Illinois State Board of Education provides legal advice and legal resources to the Board, the Superintendent, agency staff, Regional Superintendents, and other education stakeholders to enable them to establish and implement education policy in line with the Board’s vision, mission, and goals and in compliance with State and Federal Law.
In addition, the Office of the General Counsel manages Teacher Misconduct proceedings, Tenured Teacher Dismissal Hearing Officers and Decisions, and investigations into matters of public concern.
