-
What optional (opt in) services .are available in the Ed360 dashboard?
-
Does Ed360 contain financial data?
Yes, as of January 2020 a Finances menu was added to Ed360. The
Ed360 Financial Dashboard One Pager
provides a glimpse of what the Financial Dashboard offers. An expanded Finances Menu FAQ is also available on the ISBE.net/Ed360 page.
-
How current is Ed360's data?
Ed360 data updates nightly from the ISBE Data Warehouse. New data will be available in Ed360 the day after a source system is updated.
We encourage districts to use ISBE
SIS and
EIS
Web Services to automate student data transmissions.
- How can I extract charts, graphs and tables from Ed360 to use for presentations or reports?
Charts and graphs: Select the “hamburger" icon in the upper right-hand corner of a chart to export or print it.

-
What if the data in Ed360 is wrong or incomplete?
All data in Ed360 flows from district submissions to state systems by way of the ISBE Data Warehouse. If incorrect or incomplete information appears in Ed360, then the data in one of the source databases must be incorrect. When district personnel correct the data in a source database, Ed360 will reflect the change(s) the next day.
-
How can I make recommendations for improvements and enhancements?
Many updates and improvements in Ed360 are driven by user feedback. Use Ed360's feedback tool – the conversation bubble icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Ed360 header – to submit or "like" suggestions for improvement.
Ed360 Access and Security
-
How do I get access to Ed360?
If you are a District Administrator, you can access Ed360 using your district-based email if it is associated with G Suite (Google Apps for Education) or Office 365.
- To log on for the first time, navigate to
https://ed360.isbe.net and log in using your G Suite or Office 365 email credentials.
- Explore what's available in Ed360 and if you decide you would like to opt in, follow the four-step process outlined on the first two pages of the
Ed360 Opt-in Guide
.
After a District Administrator opts in, other district employees will also have access to Ed360, depending on their position code and associated role in the Employment Information System (EIS), as long as they use their district-based G Suite or Office 365 email credentials.
If you are not a District Administrator, you will not have access to Ed360 unless your District Administrator opts in. Also, your position code (in EIS) must be active for the current school year, and you must use your district-based G Suite (Google Apps for Education) or Office 365 email credentials to log in.
-
I'm having problems accessing Ed360. What should I do?
There are several reasons why you may not be able to log in:
- Your district has not opted in to Ed360
- The email address you used to login was not found in EIS
- You do not have an active employment record in EIS
- You do not have an active position in the current school year in EIS
If you encounter issues, contact your district supervisor.
- Why can I only see my own profile information?
There are several reasons you may not be able to see any Ed360 data:
- You do not have an active position in EIS for the current school year
- You do not have course data in SIS for the current school year
- The Ed360 Role associated with your EIS position code is General Access
- If your Ed360 Role is General Access, consult with your District Administrator to determine an appropriate role; then, work with your district EIS Coordinator to make the necessary change in EIS. Refer to the
Ed360 Opt-In Guide
, especially pages 3-6, for step-by-step guidance.
If you see data on your landing page that appears to be incomplete or inaccurate, contact your supervisor or district data coordinator to ensure the data in the six ISBE State Support Systems (EIS, SIS, ELIS, EPS, I-STAR, 5-Essentials) are correct.
- I can't see information for my entire school or for my entire district. How do I get permission to see more information?
Ed360 uses role-based security following
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines. Access to Ed360 is based on EIS employment + position records.
To change your Ed360 access level, consult with your District Administrator to determine an appropriate role; then, work with your district EIS Coordinator to make the necessary change in EIS. Refer to the
Ed360 Opt-In Guide
, especially pages 3-6, for step-by-step guidance.
- If I work in two different schools, do I need to login separately to see data for the other school?
This answer depends on whether the two schools are in the same district.
If they are in the same district, no, you do not need a separate login.
- The school you are viewing data for is listed at the top left of the Ed360 screen.
- To view a different school, click your profile icon in the upper right corner of the screen. All schools in which you work should be listed. Click on the school you wish to view to switch to the home page for that school.
If the schools are not in the same district, yes, you will need to login separately using the G Suite (Google Apps for Education) or Office 365 district-based email account for the district you wish to view.
-
Is my district's data safe in Ed360?
Ed360 follows the guidelines of the
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) while focusing on local control of data. Ed360 is a role-based system, so it automatically maps system roles to district data sent into EIS. When a District Administrator opts into Ed360, district EIS data determines access levels of their teachers and principals. EIS is a secure state data collection that requires the approval of a District Administrator to access.
Key Points:
- ISBE conducts periodic third-party “white hat" testing.
- Ed360 uses G Suite or Office 365's secure sign-in to control user access.
- Ed360 does NOT collect, store or manage user passwords. Users authenticate using their district's G Suite or Office 365's sign-in.
- If you need to update or reset your district G Suite or Office 365 email password, please contact your district information systems team.
- Disabling a district G Suite or Office 365 account removes user access to Ed360.
- Ed360 data is encrypted “at rest" (in an ISBE database) and while “in transit" (sent over the internet).
- We recommend districts monitor their privacy policies and encourage educators to be good stewards of data under the protection of FERPA and the
Illinois School Student Records Act.

- If your current Ed360 code does not have access to the Finances menu, consult your District Administrator to determine an appropriate Ed360 role; then, work with your district EIS Coordinator to make the necessary change in EIS. Refer to the
Ed360 Opt-In Guide
, especially pages 3-6, for step-by-step guidance.
- If you do not have EIS position data or an IEIN, you will need to gain both before you can access Ed360 and the Finance menu.
- An IEIN can be obtained via ELIS (Educator Licensure Information System); the ELIS Team created this
training video on "How to Create an ELIS Account"
to explain the necessary steps.
- For specific ELIS technical questions, please contact the ELIS Team; their contact information is listed at the bottom of their ISBE webpage.
- Using your IEIN, collaborate with your district EIS Coordinator to create an EIS employment + position record.
- We suggest the Ed360 User position code (902). It was created specifically for employees who are otherwise considered non-certified staff. Accompanying salary and evaluation data are not required.
- Ed360 User is the only EIS position code that does not have a default Ed360 Role. Your district EIS Coordinator must manually set the Ed360 Role to the role you deem appropriate.
- For specific EIS technical questions, please contact the EIS Team at datahelp@isbe.net.
