Priority Rush Request Form ROE/CPS
The Educator Effectiveness Department has an established procedure to help districts fill positions and candidates gain employment on a priority rush basis.
- Rush requests should be limited to job-dependent situations where there is a reasonable expectation that the license, endorsement or approval will be issued. For licenses, the ROE can verify that the applicant has submitted the following:
- an application
- a copy of a valid, comparable certificate/license from another state
- official transcripts
- For a rush request for an endorsement or approval, the ROE can verify that the applicant has submitted the following:
- an application
- official transcripts
- Many endorsements and approvals require tests. The ROE should verify whether the test has been passed. If it has not, the district should be advised that the applicant is not eligible for the endorsement or approval at this time.
Priority processing may be requested only through a Regional Superintendent (in Chicago, the Human Resource Department of Chicago Public Schools). A local district may request that the ROE or CPS send priority notification to the State Board of Education. The regional superintendent will determine the validity of the request and then submit a completed priority rush form to the State Board. ISBE Educator Licensure staff will process priority applications within two weeks (10 working days).
