Illinois Learning Standards worked in grade band and subject teams to develop these drafts. The teams met every other week from September 2024 through February 2025, often volunteering additional time and effort.

Understanding Text Complexity

Understanding text complexity is critical to understanding performance across the levels in all subjects, but especially English Language Arts.
ACCOUNTABILITY REDESIGN
This statewide dataset provides the performance of each school and student group on the indicators in the new system, the performance level of that performance for each indicator, and shows how these indicator performance levels contribute to the profile of performance. Also provided is the school's official 2025 designation and targeted student groups in columns V and X (for elementary/middle schools and high schools respectively). Last, for indicators that are a composite, the raw performance of the composite elements (e.g., ELA, math and science for proficiency are provided in the last set of columns on each sheet).
