FY 2024 Feasibility Study

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is accepting agreements for fiscal year 2024 School District Reorganization Feasibility Studies. The school board of each district involved in a feasibility study must approve a resolution to initiate a study. The districts that are involved will submit a proposed agreement with an independent contractor(s) to their Regional Office of Education (ROE) or Intermediate Service Center (ISC), which will then submit the agreement to ISBE for approval.

The state allotment amount for FY 2024 studies will be the cost of the study, up to a maximum of $15,125. The state allotment amount for FY 2024 studies involving a duplicative district(s) will be the cost of the study, up to a maximum of $7,563. Any study cost above the state funding will be the responsibility of the participating districts.

Studies are funded on a “first-come, first-served” basis. In order to receive reorganization feasibility study funds in FY 2024, studies must be completed and submitted to the ROE/ISC and ISBE by May 31, 2024. ROE/ISC approval or denial of the study must be submitted to ISBE no later than June 30, 2024. Detailed procedures and sample documents for the FY 2024 feasibility studies are below.
