Pursuant to Public Act 104-0266, the Illinois State Board of Education is developing a comprehensive dual language (DL) guidance document by Dec. 15, 2026. The guidance document will address the establishment and expansion of dual language (DL) education programs. Program structure, curriculum, instruction, assessment and accountability, staff quality and professional development, family and community engagement, and support and resources to ensure effective implementation across Illinois districts are addressed in this guidance.
